Welcome to AskBox ("we", "our", "us"). AskBox is an AI-powered Q&A tool that allows users to upload files or input text, generate AI embeddings, and query their content through a chatbot interface. By accessing or using AskBox, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Service Description

AskBox offers multiple subscription tiers (Free, Starter, Pro), each with specific usage limits and features. The Service is hosted in the European Union using Vercel and Supabase. Some processing is performed by third-party providers such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, and OCR.Space.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

• All payments are processed securely by Creem.io, our payment processor.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
• You may cancel at any time. If you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
• Pricing and plan limits are clearly displayed on our Pricing page and may change with reasonable notice.
• All transactions are conducted in USD unless otherwise specified.

4. Acceptable Use

• Do not upload content that violates intellectual property rights or applicable law.
• Do not upload sexually explicit, pornographic, or inappropriate content of any kind.
• Do not use the Service for illegal activities or to create misleading or fraudulent content.
• Do not abuse or overload the Service with excessive automated requests.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or bypass security or rate limits.
• Ensure you have appropriate rights to any content you upload or process through the Service.

5. Third‑Party Services

We integrate with third parties (Groq, Hugging Face, OCR.Space, Vercel, Supabase, Creem.io) to deliver the Service. Your data may be transmitted to these providers in order to provide features such as AI responses, OCR, text embeddings, and payment processing. We select providers based on their data protection and security standards.

6. Intellectual Property

We retain all rights to the Service, including software, branding, and content we provide. You retain the rights to your uploaded content. You grant us a limited license to process your content to provide the Service.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error‑free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Venue for disputes shall be the competent courts in Germany.
